Complex steel construction for carpet-fibre production plant

One of the leading company for production systems of BCF-carpet threads, symthetic staple fibre and fibrous web placed an order with IHNEN AURICH to produce a steel construction for an ultra-modern carpet fibre machine. After only six weeks of construction time this machine was installed in Genemuiden, Netherlands.

“The enormous dynamical loads acting upon the plant during the routine operation represented a special challenge for the static” explained Johann Meyer, who was responsible for the construction. Together with the head of installation Dode Hartz he developed a cantilever support of three elements for the carpet-fibre production machine on a Friday evening. About 100 tons of galvanized steel were used for the steel construction, the running surfaces, exit stairs, rails and climbing ladders.

The complete installation of the carpet-fibre machine including the production technics should take place directly at site without pre-mounting. “Everything had to be calculated quite precisely”, says Johann Meyer. The individual steel components for the final installation were delivered by truck to Holland and they only needed to be screwed together at site. “Everything fitted perfectly at site. Our customer was satisfied and we were satisfied-this is how it should be”exclaims builder´s manager Dode Hartz happily.
