Biggest bridge for bypassing the city of Norden
After three weeks of production the time finally came: by the end of October two pre-fabricated bridge components from IHNEN AURICH reached their place of destination at the road 72 in Norden.
Connected by several small transverse girder they will be installed to the biggest bridge construction for the new bypassing of Norden in the following months. With a distance of about 8.7 kilometre it will ease the traffic for the city and make the access to the port of Norddeich-Mole easier.
The company Oltmanns GmbH from Riepe was the contractor but as they did not have the sufficient production capacity the production took place at the cooperation partner IHNEN AURICH. Within a short time steel metal sheets of 70 millimetres were welded together by hand to two bridge girders of 40 meter length each. “Only very experienced welders can cope with such tasks. As additionally we do have big productions capacities we can perfectly realise such projects”, says work-shop leader Harals Geiken.
After having been coated in Papenburg the steel giants of 42 tons was transported via trucks for the transport of heavy goods to the site and with the the help of two mobile cranes they were fitted into the Norder Tief. After finalising the welding work a concrete shore-span is planned. The total work is expected to be finalized by the end of January 2009, the costs for the bridge come to about 1.3 million euro.
